We are delighted to announce that Chenies has been selected as a site for a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacon so to celebrate this event we have arranged a day of activities for all the family to enjoy on Monday 4th June.
The main road through Chenies will be closed off on Monday 4th June 2012 to make way for the Village Day.
With a Children's Fun Fair rides, Rifle Regiment Painball Range, Little Fox's Market, Traction Engines, Classic Cars and more going on it will be a busy day. We even have a BATTLE OF BRITAIN MEMORIAL FLIGHT FLYPAST in the afternoon and Helicopter Pleasure Flight available to book througout the day!
Come along and join us for a great local Family Day Out.
Adjoining the Village Day Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club will be hosting a Cricket Match against the LASHINGS WORLD X1 Cricket Team!
LASHINGS operate a side that consists of some of the best known cricketers in the world, the current squad includes the likes of Devon Malcolm, Phil de Freitas and John Embury to name just a few.
The best of our local cricketing talent (and some
special guests) will test their worth in this truly memorable game of cricket while the rest of us enjoy the beautiful surroundings and hospitality of Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club!
In the evening we will be holding a Beacon Lighting Party in a marquee at Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club. Fantastic local band 'Cool Beans' will be playing live and there will be fully licenced bars and food outlets open all evening, best of all entrance to the party is Free of Charge to all.
Our specially commissioned Jubilee Beacon is currently being constructed and will be lit for the first time during the party at a time set by the Palace itself!
